If you have not had a chance to view resources and ideas for your business’ diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, the DEI Advisory Council has compiled information we believe will help.  We’ve assembled a list that meets the needs of most businesses no matter how large or small.

You can find numerous articles on traditional DEI topics such as business reasons for having a DEI program, inclusivity, and belonging, as well as topics you may not have thought of such as reasonable accommodations, proximity bias, and much more.  Articles also address laws such as the Americans with Disability Act, visa programs, MENA (a new racial ethnic category under consideration), and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.

The Council has included a list of books.  We are currently reading Blindspot – Hidden Biases in Good People, and we are looking forward to discussing the book during our December Council meeting. Have you heard of Harvard’s Implicit Association Test?  It measures unconscious attitudes and beliefs and automatic reactions we all have towards people.  The questionnaire can be found on our list.  Your answers may prove surprising. Results are confidential.  If you are looking for a fun quiz, we have included a link to Who Said It, where you can try to match a quote with the person who said it.  You will also find a DEI Calendar, activities for the workplace, and videos of DEI TED Talks.

We plan to add to the list from time-to-time.  If you have any suggestions, please email them to the Chamber.  You can find the list under the Networking tab on the Chamber’s website.
