In a groundbreaking initiative to combat human trafficking, Attorney General Jason Miyares visited Culpeper, Virginia, on January 18, 2024, to recognize Human Trafficking Prevention Month and announce a transformative partnership with the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce—the 100% Business Alliance Against Trafficking.

Raising awareness and prosecuting human traffickers has been a priority for the Office of Attorney General under Attorney General Miyares. In August, the Office of the Attorney General participated in the investigation, prosecution, and historic sentencing of individuals connected to a labor trafficking enterprise involving immigrant children at a laundromat in Williamsburg, Virginia.
