Our first After-Hours networking event of the year, graciously hosted by the Fauquier and Culpeper Chamber Young Professionals, fostered a vibrant atmosphere. We also highlighted the Culpeper Young Professionals’ nonprofit of the year, Aging Together. It was an evening of meaningful connections, uniting our communities and paving the way for collaborative efforts between our two counties.

Thank you to Narmada Winery for their generous donation of $250 to our 2024 charity Aging Together!

We had our annual Women’s LIFT 2024 on Wednesday at the beautiful Prince Michel Vineyard & Winery!
Dr. Olga Mazur, Fauquier Health, shared her inspirational story of her journey to becoming a doctor, which started at a young age.
Jamie Clancy, a clinical social worker and member of the Culpeper Town Council, led us on a journey to identify Trajectories that lead us to what we want and don’t want in our lives.
We divided into four groups to explore the various applications of the trajectory tool in specific areas of our lives. Each group was led by a woman who specialized in that particular area: Autumn Hayes from Atlantic Union Bank led the Finance group, Gwen Steele from Steele Away Weddings led the Personal group, Amy Frazier from Culpeper Chamber of Commerce led the Professional group, and Dr. Nchang Azefor from Fauquier Health led the Health & Wellness group.
To help us stay motivated and on course, we finished the day by creating vision boards and networking.
This fantastic event would not have been possible without the support of our Sponsors:
Signature Sponsor – Fauquier Health
Lift Sponsors – Atlantic Union Bank and Prince Michel Vineyard & Winery
Empower Sponsors – All Install, Culpeper Star-Exponent news, Kid Central, YHB
Encourage Sponsors – Appleton Campbell, Culpeper Business Women, Damus Providentia Press, Dominion Energy, Oak View National Bank, and Partners 1st Federal Credit Union
Special Thanks to our Lift Committee: Samantha Barber, Jamie Clancy, Maria Fay, Kathy Godfrey, Maria-Jose Gregerson, Autumn Hayes, Leslie Kidd, Jennifer Margerum, Karina Rodriquez, Kristy Romeo, and Gwen Steele.

Thank you to the ladies who attended the Women’s Lift event and donated food for the Culpeper Food Closet! We were so excited about how much food we received that we forgot to count and see if we beat last year’s collection! Thank you to Maria of The Signature Team of RE/MAX Gateway for dropping the items off for us at St. Stephens Food Closet.

Yesterday’s after-hours networking social, hosted by HITS Culpeper Commonwealth Park, was a great success! The event was well attended by professionals from various industries, and everyone had a great time mingling and making new connections. We enjoyed drinks, delicious snacks, and engaging conversations with old and new acquaintances. It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with colleagues and meet new
people in a relaxed and friendly setting. The HITS Commonwealth Park is situated on 92 acres, where old-school charm meets the modern horse show experience. HITS Culpeper hosts 6 USEF-rated hunter/jumper
competitions annually and is proud to offer VHSA-affiliated shows.
Spectators are welcome to watch the action! No ticket is required. However, we were warned that parking may be a challenge.

On Friday, April 19th, participants in the 2024 Lead Culpeper program had the chance to delve into the diverse array of agricultural enterprises in Culpeper County. They engaged with industry leaders, gaining insights into their businesses, the hurdles they face, and the evolving role of technology in agriculture.

We began the day with an expert panel that included representatives from CFC Farm & Home, The Virginia Cooperative Extension office, Farm Bureau, Muddy Flatts Farm and the Culpeper Young Farmers.

We followed the panel with a tour of the CFC Retail store and feed mill.  We then traveled to Windmill Heights Garden Center to do a tour of the greenhouses as well as a fun hands on activity.  Next we headed to Old Trade Brewery for a delicious lunch and learned more about Agri-tourism while touring the brewery and Mulberry Event Venue.  Our next stop was Glebe Farm, the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Agribuiness of the Year, where we learned more about the Swan family history – Glebe farm has been operated in their family for 5 going on 6 generations and exploring the Museum of J.A. Swan Jr. & Co.  Our final stop for the day was Soli Organic in Elkwood where we put on our hair nets and learned more about large scale greenhouse food production.

🎉 Yesterday marked an incredible milestone for Gold’s Gym as we celebrated 20 years of fitness, community, and countless success stories! The energy was electric as we cut the ribbon on two decades of dedication to health and wellness.

We were deeply moved to hear from the sister of one of their beloved trainers, Alex Decker, bravely fighting cancer. Their strength and resilience inspire us to push forward with courage and determination. 💪💖

And let’s not forget the delicious BBQ nachos served by Burnt Ends BBQ LLC, adding flavor to our celebration and reminding us that fitness is about balance and enjoyment too!

Here’s to many more years of strength, resilience, and achieving our fitness goals together!

Gold’s Gym encourages individuals to learn more about Alex’s journey and show their support by visiting his GoFundMe page. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in Alex’s fight against cancer.  https://www.gofundme.com/f/cancer-treatment-assistance-for-alex
