ten years. We partner with Culpeper Eagles 4551 extensively and feel like they are a huge reason we can do as much as we can. Walmart is also a great supporter of ours as well.
Our mission statement is “”Help provide a better quality of life for those less fortunate””. We are involved with many charity events and helping others in need all year long. Some of these include:
o Assisting with Back-to-School Event(s). We coordinated with the Town Police Department and Sycamore Park Elementary School to purchase approximately 650 book bags and over $3,000 in
school supplies for children for the beginning of the 2024-25 school year. We also purchased items for school clinics such as snacks and under garments.
o Taking 150 children Christmas shopping at Walmart. We take 150 children from ages 4 to 15 shopping at Christmas for clothing items, shoes, hygiene products, bedding, or whatever they
deem a necessity. They have a budget of $150 to $175 for shopping. We also have around 150 to 175 volunteers show up to help us with the shopping. After shopping the children and their families
are taken to Brandy Vol. Fire Department for a breakfast with Santa. There they are given a backpack filled with various items.
o Purchasing a large number of diapers that are given to the Department of Social Services to distribute as needed. We normally spend approximately $500 on this project. They are given out on
the shopping day to families with children 3 and under.
o Teen Dress for Success, where we take approximately 75 teenagers shopping at Target in the fall. We work in conjunction with the schools to take approximately 35 to 40 teenagers shopping for
clothing. These are teens that may not have the resources to be able to shop.
o Sponsoring the Community Christmas Basket Program, Doris’ Elderly Angel Tree, and Loads of Love at Sycamore Park Elementary School. We give approximately $1,500 to both the Community
Christmas Basket Program and Doris’ Elderly Angel tree to use at their discretion. We also support the Sycamore Park Loads of Love by giving donations of clothing, shoes, and other items as
needed.
o Furnishing all elementary schools with school supplies, snacks, juice boxes, gloves, socks and other items as needed. We do this at the beginning of the year and again in January. The schools will
contact us throughout the school year if needed. Providing new clothing and shoes to the Women’s Abuse Shelter and the elementary schools. We provided several boxes and bags of clothing and
shoes to them
o Wreaths Across America Sponsor. Last year we donated $700 to the Wreaths Across America program to try and make sure that all headstones at the Culpeper National Cemetary had a wreath
for the Holiday Season.
o “Star Cadets” program at the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office. We donated $2,500 to the “”Star Cadets”” program at the Sheriff’s Office. This allowed and will allow Sheriff Chilton to begin and
continue this great program.
Our future goals are:
o Make ourselves better known to the community
o Increase Volunteerism
o Increase our Fundraising Efforts through various fundraisers and donations
o Increase our Partnerships with local businesses
o Help the Homeless
We rely on strictly donations and grants to be able to do what we accomplish. Depending on donations received, that will dictate how much we can do as a group.
As you can see we are a small group of volunteers but we do a lot of things throughout Culpeper.” We’re thrilled to celebrate their accomplishments on November 7 and can’t wait to see who will

and dedication in our community. Here’s what their nomination had to say: “I have had the pleasure of partnering with Sharon for the last three years on her Pamper Me Pink initiative. Prior to that, I would drive out occasionally from Fredericksburg with my mother just to shop there and to have a little lunch in the area. Her shop was always so inviting, the staff was over the top for friendliness, and they were perfect at helping
me to find the exact gift or item I was searching. Everything about the shop is lovely, the staff, the layout, the products offered, and the continual reach for better.
When I began to work at UVA Health I was assigned to support the marketing efforts for the PMP event. I was stunned at how successful this little pet project had become. This year marks the 20th
anniversary of the PMP event. To continue to rally the community and volunteers to support this event is tremendous, especially to have survived Covid and come out on top of their game.
PMP supports those in need of financial assistance for breast health services. By promoting awareness, education, support, and fund raising to lift up and financially support those in need of a free mammogram and follow-up imaging. To qualify there is a short list to review and anyone in the Culpeper and surrounding area is open to apply. It takes about one week to apply are be accepted. The fund covers things such as a provider visit to obtain a referral for imaging, screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, screening breast ultrasound, and follow-ups. This is a completely selfless support of the community and her neighbors. To run a successful business is a full-time endeavor, but to add the PMP event to the yearly goals is 10 fold. I believe Pepperberries stands out as a shining small business in the community and is long past due in being awarded the recognition for all they do. As of 2023 Pamper Me Pink has provided 620 free mammograms. Think of the countless lives this may have saved!!”
