CHAMBER COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Week Ending 2/6/2024

 January 29th

On Monday, Hundred Acre Books had a Fae Night Market. Guests enjoyed massages from Michelle at Willow Moon Healing, LLC. Tea and delicious scones were available from Miss Minerva’s Tea Room & Gifts. There was a book release, scavenger hunt, and more! Be sure to follow their page for more fun events coming in 2024!

January 31st

Sarah had tea with Chris at Encompass Community Supports to learn more about their services and how the Chamber can support their mission. She learned that they have people who can help advise on Medicare and that they prepare meals for organizations in our community, like the senior center. Encompass Community Supports provides a wide breadth of services to our community.

If you need assistance with youth, intellectual & developmental disability, housing, mental health, senior citizens, substance abuse, addiction, & prevention, transportation, veterans, or anything else, reach out to them. Don’t be afraid to ask for help!

Did you know we’ve got an extra day this February? That’s right, it’s Leap Year! This year, The Culpeper Chamber of Commerce is making it extra special by dedicating it to “Leap of Kindness Day”!

We are starting a list in the office of things we will do to celebrate. Let’s fill this bonus day with acts of kindness and generosity! Here are a few ideas to get you started:

-Donate gently used items to a local charity.

-Treat a friend or colleague to coffee or a snack.

-Plant a tree or flowers in your neighborhood.

-Share your favorite book with someone.

-Cook a meal for a neighbor in need.

-Create uplifting and positive sidewalk chalk art.

-Write heartfelt notes and leave them in public places.

-Pick up any litter you see.

-Write a thank you note to an educator, custodian, bus driver, or first responder.

We want YOU to be a part of this kindness celebration. Please use the hashtag: #CulpeperLeapOfKindnessDay so we can follow along!

Comment below with your own ideas or requests for acts of kindness, and let’s make Leap of Kindness Day unforgettable!

Together, we can make a positive impact in our community.

On Friday, we celebrated Early’s Carpet, Inc. warehouse expansion and new centrifuge! Early’s Carpet has been a cornerstone of our local economy for 57 years, contributing not only to the growth of our business sector but also to the overall prosperity of our community.

The introduction of the new centrifuge is a testament to Early’s Carpet’s commitment to staying at the forefront of industry advancements. This innovative technology not only enhances their operational efficiency but also showcases their forward-thinking approach to business. It is a reflection of their adaptability and readiness to embrace the future.
