Culpeper Chamber of Commerce’s Lead Culpeper Program participants had a BLAST during Economic Development & Large Industry Day!

Our 2024 Lead Culpeper Participants delved into the heart of Culpeper’s thriving large industries!  The day kicked off with enlightening insights from the Culpeper Economic Development Director, Bryan Rothamel, shedding light on the economic landscape and opportunities in our community.

We then boarded our Virginia Rides bus transportation and our adventure continued with a fascinating tour of Cedar Mountain Stone, where we not only witnessed the intricate processes but also got a front-row seat to a blast! 💥 While there we learned about Cedar Mountain Stones various apprenticeship and training programs and got to meet a new employee who is a recent high school graduate from Culpeper Technical Education Center.

Next on the agenda was a visit to Hexatronic Rochester Cable, Inc., where we explored cutting-edge technology and innovation.  The advancements taking place right here in Culpeper are awe-inspiring!

Our day concluded with a tour of Communications Corporation of America, where we gained valuable insights into the world of full service direct mail.  We learned about the CCA journey and got to witness their industry-leading digital presses and finishing equipment in action!

A huge thank you to the organizations who facilitated these tours for our group and made this day so memorable for us all!

We are thrilled to share that our President/CEO was a part of a distinguished roundtable discussion and celebration alongside leaders such as U.S. Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, Chancellor David Dore of the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education, and Germanna Community College President Janet Gullickson.

The focus of the event? A momentous celebration of federal funding earmarked to support early childhood education and internships for foster youth.  This initiative is a testament to the dedication of our community leaders in ensuring a brighter future for our youth.

What’s even more exciting is that the event featured a roundtable discussion with inspirational Germanna students and graduates who are/were direct beneficiaries of these funds. Their stories and experiences shed light on the positive impact of this funding on their education and prospects.

It’s not just about education; it’s about building a robust foundation for our workforce and shaping a thriving community.

The Culpeper Chamber of Commerce is SO very appreciative of the innovative work being done at Germanna as they are working diligently in our community to provide the workforce education needed to fill the gaps.  We are thankful for our invaluable partnership.

Thank you to all those from the Chamber and community who joined us for this event!
