Culpeper Young Professionals
The Young Professionals had the distinct pleasure of meeting Miss Virginia Volunteer today as one of the stops on her Angel Train Express 10-day tour through Virginia was with The Salvation Army of the Virginia Piedmont right here in Culpeper! It was truly inspiring to see her dedication to spreading holiday cheer. We even got to see the toys the Salvation Army Volunteers have prepared for distribution to families in our community—supporting 566 children in Culpeper with over $100,000 in gifts! The Angel Train Express is bringing hope and joy across the Commonwealth, and we’re so grateful Culpeper was included on this amazing journey.
Thank you, Miss Virginia Volunteer, for your service and for taking the time to visit with us. Your commitment to giving back is a reminder of what the season is all about!
Thank you so much Lieutenant Antoine Terrell for this opportunity!

Last week, we had the honor of celebrating Carl Stafford at his retirement party after 40 years of dedicated service as Senior ANR Agent at the Virginia Cooperative Extension – Culpeper Unit.
Carl has been more than a colleague; he’s been a true friend to the Culpeper Chamber and a tireless advocate for agriculture in our community. He understood deeply that farming isn’t just part of our heritage; it’s a
vital business that deserves respect and support from every sector of our economy.
Anyone who spent time with Carl knows his gift for storytelling. He could paint vivid pictures of the dairy farms that once dotted our landscape, sharing not just the history of the land but the stories of the families who worked it. His knowledge seemed endless, yet he had this remarkable ability to explain complex farming techniques in ways that anyone, whether you grew up on a farm or in town, could understand and appreciate.
Carl’s passion for teaching was matched only by his passion for people. Through his service on our Agribusiness Award Committee, his presentations at State of the Communities, and his invaluable assistance with Lead Culpeper, he has positively shaped our Chamber programming in countless ways. We are so grateful for his wisdom, his time, and his friendship.
We’re also incredibly proud of the legacy Carl is leaving behind, particularly through his work at the Carver Center. The momentum he’s built there will continue to benefit our community for years to come.
While we wish Carl many happy, well-deserved years of retirement, we hope he won’t be a stranger. Thank you, Carl, for 40 years of service, for your dedication to agriculture, and for being such an important
part of the Culpeper community. You’ve made a lasting difference.
